The
Computational Bioscience Research Center (CBRC), the
Biological and Environmental Sciences and Engineering (BESE) Division at KAUST, and the
Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) are delighted to invite you to their first joint international conference on Trends in Microbiome and Digital One Health to be held from October 30th -November 1st, 2023, at KAUST, Saudi Arabia.
Distinguished speakers from around the world and local experts will convene over a span of three days to explore the latest research encompassing the diverse aspects of microbiome and One Health. The conference's final day will highlight how digital and computational resources can be effectively utilized to unite various research pillars, research groups, and entities. Microbiome science aims to advance our understanding of microbial communities (microbiomes) for applications in areas such as health care, food production, and environmental restoration to benefit individuals, communities, and the planet. Importantly, microbiome sciences align with the One Health approach, which encompasses the environmental, human, animal, and plant sectors.
The advancement of digital technology has resulted in the transformation of public health, where it enhanced biomedical research, enriched scientific knowledge, improved health education, developed precision medicine, and therefore accelerated the efficacy of public health. One of the lessons learned from COVID-19 pandemic is the introduction of One Digital Health (ODH) concept. Since then, the majority of health-related organizations from all over the world are moving towards implementing the digital One Health approach to prevent and manage outbreaks of different diseases. In Saudi Arabia, since 2018, there have been tremendous efforts in the usage of digital technologies, which have played a significant role in supporting the delivery of digital health aligning with Saudi Arabian Vision 2030.
Through this conference, we seek to bring together leading microbiome, one health, and digital one health scientists and researchers to present their most recent findings and discuss key directions and ideas for fostering a robust and solid scientific community in Saudi Arabia. The conference will feature daily panel discussions with hot topics that will address the needs and wants of the local and international research community, with a special focus on Microbiomes, One Health and digitalization, aiming to achieve synergy with relevant government bodies. We strongly believe that this conference will provide a unique forum for the active exchange of ideas and experiences among researchers is this rapidly evolving subject.
On behalf of the Organizing and Program Committees, we would like to invite you to our three-day event. As always, we look forward to welcoming you and to a fruitful interchange of ideas.
