E-Infrastructure for HPC and biological data-management and reproducible research


Abstract: 

Biological data has a rich information and knowledge dimension that enables deeper understanding of life. The ability to digitize the biological systems and interact with it requires complex data processing in order to generate reproducible results.  Advancement in AI and high performance computing adds a burden on making accurate abstraction of such biological systems. Nonetheless the shared information across multiple organisms on genome level enables comparative studies, diagnostics and further engineering. Generating data and making it available is a key feature of FAIR data principles. High performance compute cost is a critical element in very large comparative studies on genomics level. Drug prediction and 3D structure prediction are a very important topic in current bioinformatics research. Allowing the use of scalable and elastic compute resources allows for better resources allocation, in addition reducing the compute cost.
