Beata Turonova

Biography

Dr. Beata Turonova studied Computer Science at Charles University in Prague and continued with the Visual Computing Master's program in Saarbrucken, Germany. She obtained a PhD degree in Computer Graphics under the supervision of Prof. Philipp Slusallek. For her postdoc, she switched to the field of structural biology by joining John Briggs lab at EMBL in Heidelberg. She continued as a postdoctoral fellow at Martin Beck group at EMBL. Currently, Dr. Turonova is a project group leader at Max Planck Institute of Biophysics in Frankfurt am Main and focuses her research mostly on methods development for cryo electron tomography and contextual analysis of tomographic data.
