Computational Advances in Structural Biology

May 1 - 3, 2023 Auditorium between building 4 & 5

Jan Kosinski

Group leader, European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Hamburg

Biography

Jan Kosinski studied at the University of Warsaw and did his Ph.D. in 2009 at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB) in Warsaw. Then he moved for a postdoc abroad, first in Italy at the Sapienza University of Rome and then in Germany at EMBL Heidelberg, working on computational protein structure prediction and integrative structural modeling of large complexes, such as the nuclear pore complex. Since 2017, Jan has been a group leader at European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and the Centre for Structural Systems Biology (CSSB) in Hamburg. His lab characterizes structures of large macromolecular complexes and the intracellular infection cycle of the influenza A virus by integrating structural, cell, and systems biology with computational modeling.
