All KAUST Student Poster Competition

The poster competition were judged by:

• Hammad Naveed - An Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at the National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences, Pakistan.
  

• Zhang Zhang -  A distinguished Professor of Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Executive Director of the National Genomics Data Center in BIG, CAS, China.
  

• Naif A Almontashiri - Ph.D. DABMGG, FACMGG (Clinical Molecular and Biochemical Genetics) Assistant Professor and Consultant of Clinical Molecular and Biochemical Genetics Director of the Center for Genetics and Inherited Diseases (CGID) Vice Dean of Scientific Research Taibah University, Medina, Saudi Arabia.
  

Poster competition winners:

The first prize winner is CBRC, BORG Master's Student Sakhaa Alsaedi, for her poster titled, "Improving variant calling workflow by analyzing allele frequencies in a Saudi population to detect rare variants associated with disease". she won an Apple IPad.

The second prize winner is BESE, Ph.D. student Qingtian Guan, for his poster titled, "Next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics-driven clinical metagenomics for digital health". He won a JBL portable Bluetooth speaker.

The third prize winner is BESE, Ph.D. student Chongwei Bi, for his poster titled, "Targeted individual molecule sequencing enables the detection of ultra-rare variants". He won an Apple Airpods.
