Panos Kalnis is a Professor of Computer Science (CS) and Principal Investigator of the InfoCloud Research Group. He is also a member of the Extreme Computing Research Center. Prior to joining KAUST, Kalnis received a Ph.D. from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Diploma in Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece. In 2009 he was on sabbatical from Stanford University and was an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science, National University of Singapore (NUS). He was involved in the designing and testing of VLSI chips at the Computer Technology Institute, Greece. He has also worked for several companies on database designing, e-commerce projects and web applications.
