Dr. Nan Tang is an associate professor at HKUST (GZ) (2023-), a scientist at Qatar Computing Research Institute (2011-2023), a research fellow at University of Edinburgh (2010--2011), a scientific staff member with the CWI (Dutch National Research Center for Mathematics and Computer Science) (2008--2010). His research topic is mainly in data-centric AI (good data for AI) and AI-powered data preparation (AI for good data). He has published 120+ papers in top database venues, and won the best paper award in VLDB 2010 and SIGMOD 2020 Reproducibility award. He has served as PC and area chair for major database conferences.
